Our story

I began my career as a public school teacher, full of hope and excitement for the students I would meet. What I discovered inside the classroom broke my heart.
Every day, I witnessed students who were naturally curious, creative, and full of unique strengths - yet were placed in a system that didn’t honor any of it. They were all expected to learn the same material, in the same way, at the same pace, regardless of their interests or talents. Instead of being invited to explore, build, and create, they were forced to memorize and “prove” their knowledge on tests that had little real-world relevance.
The truth is, so much of what we taught them wasn’t preparing them for life. Students would ask me, “When are we ever going to use this in the real world?” And my honest answer was often, “You probably won’t.”
I saw time and potential being wasted - not because students didn’t care, but because the system wasn’t designed for respecting their individuality. I saw how the system crushed the children's confidence, interest in learning, and slowly dimmed their light.
What troubled me most were the standardized tests. I saw students become anxious trying to decode confusing, semantics-based questions that had nothing to do with genuine learning. They never received feedback on their results, never knew what they got right or wrong. Many walked away feeling “not good enough,” as if their worth could be measured on a paper.
I realized how harmful this environment was to a person’s mind, body and soul. A nervous system that is constantly stressed, overstimulated, or pressured cannot learn, grow, or feel safe. I saw firsthand how this stress imprints on a young person’s sense of self.
I believe that true learning — and true happiness - come from a regulated nervous system, a calm mind, and a sense of inner freedom. When teens feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves, they naturally become curious, capable, and engaged. They think for themselves. They form their own opinions. They discover what lights them up.
That is the foundation of The Freedom School.
I created this school for the students who deserve more than memorization. For the teens who want to explore, think critically, and express their creativity. For the young people who are ready to build confidence, emotional intelligence, strong friendships, and a deep understanding of themselves and their world.
I want students to graduate feeling proud of who they are. Confident in their uniqueness. And empowered to forge a life path that feels meaningful and authentic to them. I created The Freedom School, based on the belief that education should liberate, not constrain. It should nurture potential, not suppress it. I'm passionately devoted this journey of raising the standard our for our teenagers, to be happy and thrive.
