Insightful Career & University Advisory

Insightful Career &
University Advisory

The Freedom School offers personalized career and university guidance through weekly Advisory sessions.

These sessions are an essential part of the learning journey, supporting learners and parents in preparing thoughtfully for life after high school. Advisory is not just about “what comes next,” but about helping learners understand themselves, their strengths, and the paths that genuinely fit them.

As learners approach university age, Advisory expands into individualized college mentoring. We support students in exploring potential fields of study and identifying universities and programs that align with their interests, values, learning style, and long-term goals—rather than focusing solely on prestige or rankings.

We also guide students through the practical requirements of university admission. This includes support with standardized test preparation where required (such as the SAT or ACT), helping students understand which tests they need, creating realistic preparation plans, and building the academic skills those exams assess.

Throughout the application process, learners receive hands-on, one-on-one support. We help them stay organized, meet deadlines, complete applications accurately, and approach personal statements and essays with clarity and authenticity. Our role is to reduce overwhelm, provide structure, and ensure students feel confident and supported at every stage.

In addition to group Advisory, we collaborate with learners in individual sessions to help them set meaningful personal goals and follow through on them—academically, personally, and professionally. The aim is for students to leave The Freedom School not only prepared for university, but equipped to make informed, self-directed decisions about their future.

For learners who prefer a different route, we offer the same level of guidance and support. This may include exploring vocational or career-focused pathways, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, or pursuing creative and artistic fields. We help students research options, build practical skills, create portfolios where relevant, and develop realistic next steps that align with their goals and circumstances.
