At The Freedom School, learning is active, personal, and meaningful. We believe students learn best when they are engaged in real-world projects, supported by mentors, and encouraged to think for themselves. Our program is designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, emotional wellness, and a lifelong love of learning.
Here’s how it works:
Weekly Project-Based Learning
Every week, students embark on a new project that connects to real-world topics and skills.
Projects are intentionally designed to:
Rather than memorizing information for a test, students create, build, and investigate.
Each project is hands-on, collaborative, and rooted in meaningful learning.
Students receive guidance and support from their teachers and mentors as they work through their weekly project. This ensures they are building:
Our teachers don’t lecture — they coach, encourage, and help students bring their ideas to life.
Weekly Presentations
At the end of each week, students share their projects with their class community.
This develops essential real-world skills:
Students learn to express themselves, present ideas clearly, and take pride in what they’ve created.
Personalized 1:1 Feedback
Every student receives individualized feedback from their teacher each week.
This helps them understand:
Feedback is supportive, human-centered, and focused on the student’s growth — not grades or test scores.
Weekly Mindfulness & Emotional Intelligence Class
We believe emotional wellbeing is foundational to a happy, healthy, fulfilled life.
Each week, students join a dedicated mindfulness and emotional intelligence class where they learn to.
