FAQ
Are we a licensed school?
The Freedom School is proudly on it's way to becoming a fully licensed school in the United States of America
Can students with IEP’s or learning differences join?
Yes. We welcome students with diverse learning needs. Before the school year begins, we meet individually with every student to understand their strengths, challenges, learning preferences, and any support they may need. This helps us design a learning experience that truly fits them. Our program is flexible, student-centered, and designed to honor each child’s uniqueness. We aim to accommodate a wide range of learning styles within the classroom and adjust our approach so every student feels supported, confident, and capable. At The Freedom School, individuality isn't just accepted — it's celebrated.
How does grading work?
Students at The Freedom School receive an official, accredited transcript that is fully recognized by high schools and college admissions offices. Our grading model is centered on mastery-based learning. Instead of traditional grades that rely on tests, students receive narrative evaluations and detailed feedback that reflects their actual understanding, growth, and effort. Each week, students also meet 1:1 with their teacher to review their work, set goals, and track progress. To ensure transcripts remain college-admissions friendly, we also provide traditional GPA equivalents alongside mastery evaluations. This means students benefit from a more supportive, accurate, and human-centered learning system — while still having all the documentation needed for future academic pathways. In short: students get the best of both worlds — meaningful feedback that supports real learning, and a transcript format that colleges understand and value.
What qualifications do learners graduate with?
Learners at The Freedom School graduate with a fully recognized U.S. high-school diploma issued by our registered private school in the state of Florida. Our transcripts meet the standard requirements for U.S. colleges and universities, including: Official coursework records aligned with core academic subject areas Letter or number grades (depending on family preference) Credits that reflect national norms for high-school completion Documented electives and enrichment experiences Because Freedom School is student-centered and project-based, graduates also leave with something far more valuable than a list of classes—they build a personalized mastery portfolio that showcases: Long-term projects Research work Creative outputs Community-based learning Evidence of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving This combination of an accredited diploma, official transcript, and a portfolio of real work makes our learners competitive applicants for U.S. colleges, international universities, online programs, and alternative post-secondary paths.
What curriculum do you follow?
Our curriculum is modern, flexible, and designed to prepare students for life beyond high school. Rather than relying on outdated, one-size-fits-all textbooks, we use a skills-based, interdisciplinary curriculum that gives students a strong foundation in essential academic areas while also preparing them for the real world. Students build a broad understanding across literacy, math, science, global studies, and the humanities — but they also develop practical skills such as problem-solving, communication, emotional intelligence, research, creativity, collaboration, and independent thinking. Our weekly project-based learning model allows students to apply these skills in meaningful, real-world contexts, ensuring they not only learn information but also know how to use it. The Freedom School Curriculum is designed to help students graduate with confidence, self-awareness, and the skills they need to thrive in college, career, and life.
